About Us
We are two Asian American artists brought together by a shared love of clay and craft. Our journey into pottery has been one of curiosity, patience, and a whole lot of trial and error and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
The name Innae was born during a trip to South Korea, where we visited a pottery village in Icheon-si, Gyeonggi-do. There, we stumbled into a small studio that stopped us in our tracks. Every piece inside was more breathtaking than the last. The artist — a woman who had been making pottery for over 35 years greeted us warmly, and when she learned how new we were to the craft, she laughed, called us babies, and disappeared into the back. She returned with two beautiful cups and gifted us a word: 인내, Innae. It means patience, endurance, and perseverance the ability to remain calm, push through hardship, and keep going.
That word has lived with us ever since. Behind every piece we share, there are many more that didn’t make it — ones we learned from, grew through, and tried again. Innae Pottery is our ongoing journey, and we’re grateful to have you along for it.
